Legally you won’t have to do anything till you get lots of business and want a location. They will come to you if you need to do something…just make some flyers and business cards and go from there.
What do you think? Answer below!

Here are three things to think about when starting up your business.
First, you should register a company. Where I come from, it’s the provincial registry where you take care of that. There are several different options, but primarily you can register as a sole proprietor (the cheapest option, but maybe not the most effective) or as a corporation (more legal protection, but more expensive!)
Secondly, you should check the requirements of your town/city to see if they allow a food related facility in a home. Some cities do, if you have a separate kitchen. You’ll need to have your baking area inspected in order to comply with the regulations.
Finally, your governing body may require some sort of food safe training. This will ensure you are aware of the types of problems that can come from the improper handling of food.
These are the basic issues to watch for. This will keep you in compliance with your regulators so you aren’t suddenly shut down for operating illegally.
