For a moment, I thought it was a real cake. Purposely made small and I was gonna say "So tiny. Won’t even fill an ant up". Then I realised it’s made of plasticine. *grin*

Ooh, I like the coconut. I assume a cookie-cutter was used?

  22. anastaz1a on May 29, 2012 at 11:03 am

I would assume so too but I really have no idea. I had no hand in any planning or baking. It was all Ruth and Mom.

Coconut Sorbet served with German chocolate cake.

  24. g_gartner on May 29, 2012 at 11:44 am

This is one of those desserts that from the very description of it, you know is going to be a hit. Coconut. Sorbet. German chocolate. Cake. How can you go wrong? I’m wishing there was some kind of smell/taste interaction through the internet right now…

  25. Felip1 on May 29, 2012 at 12:02 pm

Happy Birthday! And 36 – a nearly perfect number: (3 x 2)squared; or 3x2x2x3; or just for show 3x2x1x2x3. Sheesh, you won’t see the like until your (probably) last squared prime at 49.

Many happy returns of the day!

  26. Digital Agent on May 29, 2012 at 12:55 pm

this looks so good and now I am craving sweets…

  27. red_1 on May 29, 2012 at 1:02 pm

    yes…cookie cutter

  28. anastaz1a on May 29, 2012 at 1:35 pm

36 does seem like a charmed number, being a squared prime and all.

  29. Felip1 on May 29, 2012 at 2:29 pm

Sorry for the confusion; technically it’s not a squared prime.
1, 4, 9, 25 and 49 are all the squared primes most of us achieve.
Some lucky ones make it to 121. Having been through all the others, I’m aiming to be there, too.

But 36 is still really good, being, ahh, the square of the multiple of the first three primes. And coincidentally the square of the sum of the first three primes.

(Really, I DID fail first-year maths.)

And coconut sorbet & chocolate. . . mmmmm.

  30. melissajonas on May 29, 2012 at 3:24 pm

    Coconut sorbet…mmmmm….

  31. anastaz1a on May 29, 2012 at 3:39 pm

Ok, now I look like the confused one. I suppose I meant the square of an integer but my brain often goes off half-cocked. This invariably leads people who know me to wonder how on earth I ever achieved a math degree.

It’s funny that the square root of 36 years is 6 years which is around the time I should have been learning basic arithmetic, but instead just kind of zoned out. :)

I’m glad my brother isn’t in on this thread so at least one member of my family won’t be embarassed to be related to me. Hehe.
